Current electric vehicles have a weight constraint
Transportation requires an incredible amount of energy, and batteries are too heavy.
Cars
An increase in batteries capacity is not proportional to a range increase. Adding more batteries will decrease the dynamics, breaking characteristics and the number of passangers to be transported.
Aircrafts
The weight of a plane is increased by 40% with current batteries. That makes the flight impossible.
Railways
Long distances travelled in railways would imply carrying a heavy weight with batteries.
Trucks
The weight of trucks is limited by regulations. To get enough range, an electric truck could severely limited the amount of cargo it can carry.
Caravans
The maximum permissible laden mass (MTPLM) limits the amount of batteries you can carry out.
metaliq's TECHNOLOGY is 3 to 8 times lighter than batteries
METALIQ’s Technology attains total gravimetric energy densities between 600 Wh/kg and 4.000 Wh/kg, thus multiplying by 2 or even by 7 (depending on the type of vehicle) the current range of EVs and the total weight of their payload.
METALIQ TECHNOLOGY
METALIQ’s technology includes a worldwide patented in-situ hydrogen generation technology and CO2 absorption technology to be used for energy storage, electricity production and CO2 Capturing (Carbon Capture & Utilization).
METALIQ’s technology is a patented and patent-applied system for on-demand in-situ hydrogen generation using alkali metals and water.
It is based on the controlled reactions of alkali metals with water. Research is undertaken to optimize the process based on reactions using alkali-earth metals or alloys among them. Hydrogen is generated on-site, in lesser weight, at atmospheric pressure, mild temperature and without significant energy requirement. This hydrogen is further feed to a fuel cell system to produce electrical energy.
Fuel commercialisation and distribution it can be based on a recyclable cartridges system. This simplifies the recharging method, avoiding the need to access to power sources and the power storage.
WHAT ELSE CAN METALIQ OFFER?
Highly competitive cost
Widely available and cheap raw materials: 4 of the 10 most abundant elements of the Earth crust are the core materials used by METALIQ's technology. For instance, sodium can be extracted from halite deposits, distributed worldwide.
Out of the carbon cycle
100% carbon emissions free hydrogen source. During the chemical reaction for hydrogen production, no greenhouse gases are generated because it is not based on reforming of hydrocarbons.
CO2 negative
Based on a byproduct in the hydrogen production process a CO2 sequestering material is generated, capable of capturing about 0,2 tons of CO2 while generating 10 kg of hydrogen.
